  71. QUICK START:
  72. ------------
  73. In order to make FULL use of this powerful program, you will need to
  74. fully read the documentation, which is contained in a file called
  75. MUSICEZ.DOC. However, simply executing the command ME followed by
  76. pressing the [ENTER] key will start the program. The menu options are
  77. displayed in the lower portion of the screen, and you can move forward
  78. from one item to another by pressing the [SPACE] or [TAB] keys. The
  79. [BACKSPACE] or [SHIFT]-[TAB] keys will move backwards from one item to
  80. the previous.

  82. The first thing that you will probably want to do is to set the Options
  83. for your system. When initially installed, MusicEase is configured for
  84. CGA video. Using your [TAB] key, move through the options at the bottom
  85. of the screen until "Options" is highlighted. Press your [ENTER] key to
  86. go into the Options setup area. Once in the Options area, press [TAB] to
  87. highlight the "Display" option, and press [ENTER]. In the Display setup,
  88. you can select the preferred MODE (Text or Graphics), RESOLUTION (Medium
  89. or High), and ADAPTER (MDA, CGA, EGA, VGA, etc).

  91. With these options set, you're ready to begin using MusicEase!
  92.

  94. PRINTING THE DOCUMENTATION:
  95. ---------------------------
  96. The documentation file (MUSICEZ.DOC) is formatted for 75-characters per
  97. line, and 60-lines per page. To print the documentation, you can simply
  98. issue the following command from the DOS command line:
  99.  
  100.      COPY MUSICEZ.DOC PRN
  101.  
  102. The documentation file contains form-feed characters, so it can also be
  103. printed by various printing utilities.
  104.  
  105.  
  106. MusicEase is Shareware!
  107. -----------------------
  108. The registration fee for MusicEase is $49.00 (US), plus applicable
  109. shipping/handling charges. You are entitled to evaluate MusicEase for a
  110. period of up to 30 days. If after that time you intend to continue to
  111. use the program you must pay for it. If you do not intend to continue
  112. to use the program you must delete it from your system.
  113.  
  114. There is a file named REGISTER.TXT in the distribution file set which
  115. contains the order form.
  116.  
  117. The shareware copy of MusicEase that you have is not restricted in any
  118. way. Upon purchasing a licensed copy of the product, you will receive:

  121.  
  122.      -  a 25% discount on future upgrades and new releases,

  124.      -  a printed manual including graphics of music which cannot be
  125.         included in the non-registered on-disk manual,

  138.         ordered separately at a minimal cost).

  218. INSTALLATION:

  220. Installation of MusicEase is very easy.
  221.  
  222. If you have received your evaluation copy on (2) 5-1/4" floppy disks,
  223. simply place DISK #1 in your floppy disk drive and type A:START [ENTER].
  224. (or B:START, or any other valid floppy drive letter).
  225.  
  226. If you received your evaluation copy on a single 720k floppy disk,
  227. simply place the disk in your floppy disk drive and type A:START [ENTER]
  228. (or B:START, or any other valid floppy drive letter).
  229.  
  230. If you "downloaded" an evaluation version from a BBS or other electronic
  231. service, create a "temporary" subdirectory on your hard disk drive, and
  232. extract the files from the distribution archive file to that directory.
  233. Then change to that subdirectory, and type START [ENTER]. After the
  234. installation is complete, the files in the temporary directory may be
  235. deleted.

  237. The installation program will create the necessary subdirectory on your
  238. hard drive, and will then install the program files to that
  239. subdirectory.

  269. PRIVATE USE LICENSE AGREEMENT

  271. MusicEase is a "shareware" program and is provided at no charge to the
  272. user for evaluation.  Feel free to share it with your friends, but the
  273. MusicEase package must be distributed in unmodified, complete form,
  274. including all associated files as originally distributed. MusicEase may
  275. not be distributed in conjunction with any other product without the
  276. expressed, written consent of RMH Computer Services.
  277.  
  278. If you find this program useful and continue using it beyond the 30-day
  279. evaluation period, you are required to purchase a fully licensed copy of
  280. the program. For ordering information, please refer to the REGISTER.TXT
  281. file included with this package.  For information about dealer pricing,
  282. site licensing, shipping of product, returns, latest version number or
  283. technical support call 317-782-9903 or write to RMH Computer Services

  286. The registration fee will grant a usage license for one copy of MusicEase
  287. for use on any one computer at any one time.  You must treat this
  288. software just like a book. For example, this software may be used by any
  289. number of people and may be freely moved from one computer location to
  290. another, so long as there is no possibility of it being used at more than
  291. one location, or by more than one person, at any one time. Just as a book
  292. cannot be read by two different persons at the same time.

  294. Non-registered users of MusicEase are licensed only to use the program on
  295. an evaluation basis for the sole purpose of determining whether or not it
  296. meets their requirements. This evaluation period shall be 30 days. All
  297. other use requires registration. The shareware/evaluation version of this
  298. product is fully functional during the stated evaluation period. After 30
  299. days of unregistered use, the registration reminder screens will change.
  300. After 90 days of unregistered usage, the printing functions will no
  301. longer be available. And after 120 days of unregistered usage, the
  302. program will cease to function.

  304. Commercial users of MusicEase must register and pay for their copies of
  305. MusicEase within 30 days of first use or their license is withdrawn.

  310. along to your friends for evaluation.  Please encourage them to register
